Toledo Municipal Court COVID-19 Operations
Toledo Municipal Court issued an order on Sunday, March 15 declaring a temporary judicial emergency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting Friday, March 20, 2020, Toledo Municipal Court will limit hearings to only those cases where the defendant is in jail. All other cases will be scheduled after March 31, 2020.
The Toledo Municipal Court will do all things necessary to ensure the continued orderly and efficient administration of justice during this ongoing health emergency.
On any individual case, a prosecutor, defendant, defense counsel or alleged victim may petition the Court electronically to have a hearing go forward regardless of whether the defendant is currently in jail. The Emergency Motion To Expedite Hearing Due to COVID-19 may be filed by fax, email or through the e-file portal.
Victims and witnesses with questions should contact the City or County Prosecutor’s Office. Individuals with questions about felony cases should contact the Lucas County Prosecutors Office at (419) 213-4700 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All other victims and witnesses with questions should contact the City of Toledo Prosecutor’s Office at (419) 245-1975 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Entry to the building on these matters is limited to the defendant, attorney, victim and subpoenaed witnesses or by appointment.
