Community Diversion Program

The Community Diversion Program is an educational class designed to minimize an individual's potential for future criminal justice system contact. Toledo Municipal Court instituted this program in June 2018 as an alternative resolution of cases related to misdemeanor drug possession, disorderly conduct, and obstructing justice. The program’s curriculum is grounded in procedural fairness and also helps participants develop strategies for accessing community resources for success. Upon completion of the 3 ½ hour class, the case in which an individual was referred to the program is dismissed, and the individual does not need to appear in court on those charges again. The program is geared to disrupting frequent, low-level offender contact with police and the justice system.

Classes for males are held on Tuesdays and classes for females are held on Thursdays. The classes run from 12:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
